Privacy policy
Hinge Harp has no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your information for advertising. To keep the app working well, it sends a small amount of anonymous usage and diagnostic data to two services, described below. None of it is linked to your name, email, or Apple Account.
What stays on your device
- Your settings, such as the color theme, tempo, and sound choices, are saved on your device.
- Recordings you make are saved on your device. They only leave it when you choose to share them, using the system share sheet.
Usage analytics
Hinge Harp uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used: for example, which screens are opened, which features are used, and how long a playing session lasts. Firebase assigns a random app instance identifier, and Google may infer an approximate region from your IP address. This data is used only to understand and improve Hinge Harp, and is not used for advertising or tracking. Firebase's handling of this data is described in Firebase's privacy information.
Crash reports, performance, and errors
Hinge Harp uses Sentry to report crashes and unexpected errors (a recording that fails to save, for example), along with performance measurements and diagnostic logs from the app. A report can include your device model and system version, the state of the app's screens when the problem happened, and your IP address. These reports are used only to find and fix problems. Sentry's handling of this data is described in Sentry's privacy policy.
If you have chosen to share analytics with Apple, Apple may also provide us with anonymous crash reports.
Feedback
When you send feedback from inside the app, the message you write is sent to us through Sentry, together with the most recent error from that session, if there was one. The app does not ask for or attach your name or email address.
Microphone and other permissions
Hinge Harp records its own sound output, not your microphone, and does not ask for access to your microphone, camera, photos, contacts, or location.
Children
Hinge Harp does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The usage and diagnostic data above is collected the same way for everyone and is not used to identify anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
